Week Four


The fourth week of quitting smoking cold turkey is a glimpse into the life of a non-smoker.  The cravings are pretty far apart and mild - even during times of stress.  Relapse maintenance is a high priority because of the confidence levels raise a lot.

Day 22: 21 days; 14 hours; 31 minutes. Beat 324 cigarettes.  I have saved $81.02.  Circulation and lung improvement.
  • Wow!  Three weeks.  Time for a mind and body update.  Feeling pretty good!
Day 23: 22 days; 13 hours; 14 minutes. Beat 338 cigarettes. I have gained 39 hours of not smoking.  I have saved $84.57. Circulation and lung improvement.
    • 15,000 hours holding a cigarette.
    Day 24: 23 days; 13 hours; 52 minutes.  Beat 354 cigarettes.  I have saved $88.42.  Circulation and lung improvement.
      • Exercising and how my body is changing.
      Day 25: 24 days; 12 hours; 54 minutes.  Beat 368 cigarettes.  I have saved $92.02.  Circulation and lung improvement.
      • Thinking with a non-smoking brain.
      • Day 26: 25 days; 12 hours; 58 minutes.  Beat 383 cigarettes.  I have saved $95.78.  Circulation and lung improvement.
      • What replaces cigarettes?  Good memories.
      Day 27: 26 days; 14 hours; 35 minutes.  Beat 399 cigarettes.  I have saved $99.78.  Circulation and lung improvement.
      • Healthy momentum is hard to keep up when cravings are not constant.
      Day 28: 27 days; 13 hours; 13 minutes.  Beat 413 cigarettes.  I have save $103.32.  Circulation and lung improvement.  I do breath better on my hikes.
      • So were my fears of life as a non-smoker reasonable?
      Day 29: 28 days; 13 hours; 33 minutes.  Beat 428 cigarettes.  I have saved $107.12. Circulation and lung improvement.
      • Positive reinforcement helps every day.
      Day 30: 29 days; 12 hours; 48 minutes.  Beat 443 cigarettes.  I have saved $110.75. Circulation and lung improvement.
      • A shout out to my family for their support and love during my quit.
